THE CSU IS FAILING ITS STUDENTS.
THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR.

IT’S TIME FOR CHANGE

the facts

  • The CSU has the power to meaningfully improve student life, yet it continues to operate with little transparency and misplaced priorities. Despite managing an annual budget of over $4M, the CSU has:

    - Funneled $170,000 into an AI “Navi” chatbot that doesn’t work, meanwhile, students report building a functional chatbot, ConcordiaAI, in 2 days for free

    - Proposed doubling per-credit fees for nearly all programs and clubs while sitting on a $4M annual budget

    - Failed to explain where student money goes, with no accountability or clear impact

    - Delayed reimbursements for student clubs despite a reported $114K budget surplus

  • - Failed to advocate for affordable housing, mental health services, and basic campus resources, including advocating for lower gym fees, improved campus facilities, or even cleaner bathrooms

    - Increased healthcare administration spending despite a $225/year Health & Dental Plan with reported long wait times, limited coverage options, restrictive opt-out periods, and reimbursement issues

    - Doubled CSU advocacy budget over the past five years with no transparency on its use

  • - The CSU’s mismanagement damages Concordia’s credibility, affecting job prospects for all graduates.

    - Students choose Concordia to prepare for their future – but they need stronger support from the CSU to access top job opportunities

    - The CSU has the ability to expand partnerships with tech and engineering firms, host more industry and faculty-specific job fairs, and advocate for resume and interview workshops tailored to each faculty
